Crowds enjoying a live performance at Disneyland in the US were in for a huge shock on Saturday night as a giant animatronic dragon caught fire.
Videos show the 45-foot fire-breathing dragon, suddenly going up in flames, as firefighters try to control the massive blaze. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire.
All cast members and guests were evacuated from Tom Sawyer Island and attractions near the island were cleared of guests due to smoke and wind, a CNN report cited Disney officials as saying via email.
The incident happened during the Fantasmic show featuring gravity-defying water displays, pyrotechnics in which Mickey Mouse normally saves the day.
“During the final showing of ‘Fantasmic’ at Disneyland park on Saturday evening, the dragon caught fire,” the Disney statement said.
“Fire & Rescue quickly responded and the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire remains under investigation,” it added.
