Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Mr. Doug McMillon, CEO of Walmart, today, according to a PMO statement.
Replying to a tweet by Walmart, the Prime Minister said;
“The meeting with Mr. Doug McMillon, CEO of Walmart, was a fruitful one. We had insightful discussions on different subjects. Happy to see India emerge as an attractive destination for investment.”
Walmart said in a statement that the company “is working toward exporting $10 billion per year from India by 2027 and is committed to strengthening logistics, skill development and supply chains to make India a global export leader in toys, seafood and other goods.
The US retail giant has big plans of expanding its exports from India as the country emerges as a manufacturing hub.
