A video of a Russian Mi-24 helicopter being shot down by the Ukrainian forces using a surface-to-air missile provided by the US was posted by the Ukraine government on Saturday.

Ukraine has also been using hand-held anti-tank missiles supplied by the US to fight the Russians.

Although Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticised NATO for not imposing a no-fly zone on Ukraine against the Russians but is heavily dependent on the Western countries for arms and ammunition to keep the fighting going against the Russian military operation.

Russia has been facing greater than expected resistance from Ukraine's forces because of the weapons supplied by the Western nations.
