A LATAM Airlines plane taking off from Lima airport in Peru hit a truck on the runway and burst into flames on Friday.
Video footage of the horrifying accident shows the truck coming from the opposite direction suddenly swerving on to the runway as the plane speeding down for take-off.
In a social media post, the authorities said that passengers and crew on board were all safe, but two firefighters in the truck died in the horrifying accident.
Peru’s health ministry said that 20 passengers were treated in a clinic and at least two were serious. The ministry said that 61 people had been moved to nearby clinics and hospitals from the Jorge Chavez International Airport.
