A three-year-old child from Pakistan who inadvertently crossed the International Border into India was handed over to Pakistan security personnel by the Border Security Force (BSF), officials said on Saturday.
BSF informed that on Friday at about 7:15 pm, troops of 182 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector apprehended a Pakistani child, who was around 3 years old, while he crossed the border and entered Indian territory. The child was unable to reveal anything and was kept under safe custody of BSF, the statement read.
As it was a case of inadvertent crossing, BSF approached Pakistan Rangers and at about 9:45 pm, the child was handed over to them on humanitarian grounds as well as a goodwill gesture.
"BSF always takes a humane approach while dealing with inadvertent border crossers," the statement said.
