Horrifying incidents of kidnapping Hindu girls and forcibly converting them to Islam is continuing unabated in Pakistan. During the last 24 hours, three such incidents have been reported from the Sindh province, populated by an estimated 40 lakh Hindu minority.
According to initial information made available by Pakistani media sources, Salma Meghwar, of Thattu tehsil, Sheela Meghwar, and Maria Meghwar of Nukot district were abducted by armed Muslims on Sunday. A large majority of Sindhi Hindus belong to Meghwar and Kolli sub-castes live in the region.
Panju Meghwar, father of Salma lodged a complaint with the police that one Jehadi Shahid Unner abducted his daughter. The parents of the other two girls could not reach the police station as yet since they were residing in far-off villages.
