The Taliban government’s General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) has reportedly arrested two Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) members from Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan.
The GDI was earlier called the National Directorate of Security (NDS) under the previous regime of President Ashraf Ghani who was deposed after the Taliban took over the country on August 15, 2021.

The GDI said that the two men, Bilal and Hamza, were responsible for broadcasting, recruitment and terror through anonymous addresses on social media like Telegram and Facebook. Their devices and addresses through which they used to disseminate their information has been seized.
The GDI has alleged that these two men handled the social media for ISKP. Under the Taliban, the GDI has also led a crackdown on the Afghan media from publishing “False news and baseless rumours”.
