Former wife of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Reham Khan said that some people fired at her after chasing her car while she was returning from a marriage function on Sunday night.

“On the way back from my nephew’s marriage my car just got fired at & two men on a motorbike held the vehicle at gunpoint!! I had just changed vehicles.

My PS & driver were in the car. This is Imran Khan’s New Pakistan? Welcome to the state of cowards, thugs & the greedy,” Reham Khan said in a post on Twitter.

In another post, she wrote, “I want to live and die in Pakistan like a normal Pakistani. Whether I am attacked cowardly or law and order are blown up in the middle of the road. This so-called government should take responsibility for it. I am also ready to take a bullet for my country.”

I choose to live & die like the average Pakistani in Pakistan. Whether it was a cowardly targeted attack or just the state of lawlessness on the main highway of the twin cities…this so called government should be held accountable for it! She also blamed the Pakistani police for not willing to file an FIR, “We have all been awake all night & they are questioning a shaken up victim instead,” she said. According to her friends, the attackers might be from Pakistan's notorious Inter State Intelligence (ISI).

A journalist of British-Pakistani origin and a former TV anchor, Reham Khan was the second wife of Imran Khan. The couple got married in 2014 but got divorced in less than a year. In 2019, Reham Khan was banned for a few months by the Imran Khan government from coming to Pakistan, when she called her ex-husband Imran Khan a “puppet” of the Pakistani military establishment after India’s surgical strike in Pakistan following the Pulwama attack in 2019.

“Him (Imran) standing with extremist, new religious parties and promoting them using the blasphemy card to get into power, these were all these compromises he made and once again in power he made some promises and failed again to deliver them," Reham had said.

In 2018, Reham Khan published a controversial memoir “exposing” Imran Khan and dark insight about Pakistan politics which has led to death threats and legal action against many people, including her first husband Ijaz Rehman.
