In a bid to raise funds to tackle Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the Sri Lankan cricket board has decided to organise a charity game between its legendary players and the present lot of cricketers on May 4 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said today that the charity game will feature a 'Sri Lanka Greats XI' consisting of many players who won the 1996 World Cup for the country. They will take on 'Team Sri Lanka' which will be made up of players representing the national, emerging, and the development squads of the country.

The funds raised out of the proposed T20 game will be directed to help Sri Lanka’s response towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

The T20 game will be shown live, both in Sri Lanka and the overseas.
