Following the royal order, the preachers of the mosques of the kingdom, dedicated the Friday sermon to inform people of the most prominent mistakes of Tablighi and Dawah group, and its danger to society, stressing that belonging to this group is prohibited in Saudi Arabia.

The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom explained the royal order and said the statement that affiliation with partisan groups, including the Tablighi and Dawah Group is prohibited in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The members of this group are withdrawn and closed in on themselves, and they are only accompanied by those who are in their way. They follow the idea of ”eternity to the earth” and follow “mystical” behaviours that have nothing to do with useful science,” said the Grand Mufti.

Tablighi Jamaat is an orthodox missionary movement that started in India in 1926 during the British-era. It urges fellow Muslims to follow the religion particularly in matters of ritual, dress, and personal behaviour. The group is estimated to have between 350 to 400 million adherents worldwide.

Tablighi Jamaat has had a long history of ties with Pakistan-based banned terror outfits like Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. The original founders of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuM), the terror group known for the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 in 1999, were members of Tablighi Jamaat, according to Pakistani security analysts and Indian investigators. The intelligence estimates that over 6,000 Tablighi adherents were trained in Harkat-ul-Mujahideen terrorist camps in Pakistan.

According to the Russian intelligence, its counter terrorism agency had arrested of seven Tablighi members and dismantled the terrorist cell affiliated to the Tablighi Jamaat which is banned in Russia.
