The Lahore High Court acquitted six people, all leaders of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed's banned Jamat-ud-Dawah (JuD) in a terror financing case.</p>

The JuD is the front organisation for the UN-banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the terror outfit responsible for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attack that killed 166 people in a gruesome attack that lasted four days. The Let has also been held responsible for the July 2006 Mumbai train bombings besides the parliament attack.<br />

<strong>Zafar Iqbal<br />
</strong>He is a senior leader and co-founder of the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) which he formed with current LeT chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and LeT financier Mahmoud Mohammad Bahaziq.<br />
<br />
In December 2020, a Pakistan court had sentenced him to 15 years imprisonment for involvement in terror related cases.<br />
<br />
The UN has listed him on 14 March 2012 as being associated with international terror organisation Al-Qaida as well as LeT/Jamaat-ud-Dawa in senior positions.<br />
<br />
He has been involved in recruitment as well as running terror training activities. He has also been fundraising internationally for the terror outfit.<br />
<br />

<strong>Yahya Mujahid<br />
</strong>The media spokesperson of the LeT and the JuD, he was been given a collective imprisonment of 32 years by a Pakistani court in two terror finance cases in December 2020.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/sanctions/1267/aq_sanctions_list/summaries/individual/mohammed-yahya-mujahid">The UN mentions Yahya Mujahid</a> for being associated with Al-Qaida, Usama bin Laden and the Taliban. He had been issuing statements to media organisations after terror incidents like the December 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament and also the November 2008 Mumbai attacks.<br />

<strong>Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki<br />
</strong>He is well known as Hafiz Saeed's brother-in-law and is considered to be second-in-command of the JuD. The US has designated him as an international terrorist and had announced an award of $2 million for his capture.<br />
<br />
Makki is also known to be close to Taliban's supreme commander Mullah Omar and al-Qaeda's Ayman al-Zawahiri.<br />
<br />
Considered to promote the interests of Pakistan through terror activities, he enjoys the support of the Pakistani political establishment. He is a widely popular figure in Pakistan for his anti-India speeches.</p>
