Before appearing in the court at 2 PM local time for one of his cases, Gill had tweeted that his journalist friends found out that the PML-N's "gangster group" was preparing to attack him. "I am Imran Khan's soldier. I will come to court, I am not afraid of you. Believe in politics, not in bullying like you," he had added in the tweet.

After the incident, Gill accused the PML-N supporters for targeting him.

"Maryam (Nawaz), next time you do something like this, I will come to your house and wash my face there. We are Imran Khan's followers, we will not take revenge. We will, instead, teach you values," he was quoted as saying by Samaa News.

Reacting strongly to the allegations, PML-N said it has never been in favour of such politics.

"We attack from the front, not from behind, like them. We have not been given such poor training and we do not need it," the PML-N handle said in a series of tweets.
