Nepal’s PM Deuba arrives New Delhi

<strong>Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has arrived in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deuba are expected to jointly inaugurate the much-awaited 35 km long transboundary Janakpur-Jayanagar railway service between the two countries. Modi and Deuba will hold a meeting tomorrow. A slew of agreements to boost connectivity and economic ties are set to be inked at the meeting. The Nepalese Prime Minister is also likely to visit the BJP headquarters today, according to reports.</strong></p>
<p>
Deuba will also visit Varanasi on Sunday before leaving for Kathmandu.</p>

Deuba's three day trip to India just after Chinese foreing minister Wang Yi's visit to New Delhi and Kathmandu has stirred up unprecedented curiosity primarily because of the timing.</p>

According to an official statement, “the upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review this wide ranging cooperative partnership and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples.”</p>
<p>
This is Deuba’s second official overseas trip. In November, he travelled to Glasgow to participate in the UN climate conference.  </p>
<p>
“Though Deuba was to visit India much earlier, his India trip will be carefully watched as it will be undertaken within days of Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi’s trip to both countries,” an analyst told India Narrative earlier.</p>
