The world will be closely watching the political developments in Nepal as new Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will seek a vote of confidence today. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the government called the new session of Parliament today at 4 pm.</p>

Deuba&rsquo;s Nepali Congress has 61 seats in the House of Representatives. The Prime Minister requires 136 more votes to win the confidence motion. Nepali Congress&rsquo; coalition partner Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) has 49 seats. <a href="https://kathmandupost.com/national/2021/07/18/deuba-to-seek-vote-of-confidence-later-today-as-restored-house-convenes">The Kathmandu Post</a> reported that the Upendra Yadav-led faction of the Janata Samajwadi Party, which has 12 lawmakers, too stood with Deuba. The newspaper also said that Rashtriya Janamorcha which has one seat will vote for Deuba.</p>

&ldquo;The Constitution makes it mandatory that a Prime Minister appointed under Article 76(5) secures a vote of confidence within 30 days of appointment. A failure to win the vote of confidence leads to dissolution of the House, and elections must be held within six months,&rdquo; the newspaper said.</p>

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party&#39;s foreign affairs department in-charge Vijay Chauthaliwale told India Narrative that India will not interfere in Nepal&rsquo;s internal affairs. &ldquo;We are good neighbours, we share cordial relations but we do not interfere in its internal affairs,&rdquo; he said.</p>

Earlier, at an event, Chauthaliwale said India and Nepal have an equitable partnership. &ldquo;India would like to work with Nepal on three levels: government to government, people to people and cultural relations,&rdquo; he had said.</p>
