Messi to feature on the Argentina currency note?

The Central Bank of Argentina is considering a proposal to feature football superstar and face of Argentina’s world cup victory, Lionel Messi, on the national currency note.

According to Mexican national daily, El Financiero, Argentina’s Central Bank is looking at option to honour the football team which brought home the world cup under Messi’s stewardship.


The Central Bank has the option to print Messi’s image on the 1000 Peso note, whereas the officials in Argentina prefer to show the number “10” which begins with the number 1000, and the word “La Scaloneta” to honour winning team of coach, Lionel Scaloni.
