Japanese taste season’s first Alphonso and Kesar mangoes sent by India

Season's first consignment of fresh mangoes has been exported from Mumbai to Japan for a mango festival being organised in Tokyo as part of Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav, in collaboration with the Embassy of India and Invest India.

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitated the export of consignment, which included the Alphonso and Kesar varieties, on March 26.

These mangoes were treated and packed at APEDA-approved Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB) facility and exported by Berrydale Foods, a registered exporter of APEDA, to Lawson Retail Chain in Japan.
