<strong>Around 150 Bangladesh alumni, who had studied in India and attended professional courses in Indian institutes of excellence, recently attended a get-together organised by the High Commission of India, Dhaka, reminiscing their Indian journey. &nbsp;<br />
</strong><br />
The &#39;Bangladesh-India Alumni Reunion 2021&#39; was held on Thursday at the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhaka&#39;s Ramna. It also marked the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India&#39;s First Education Minister and ICCR Founder President.<br />

Over the years, more than 10,000 Bangladeshi nationals have availed various flagship scholarship schemes of the Indian government through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ayurveda Yoga Unani Siddha Homeopathy (AYUSH), Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) as well as &#39;Study in India&#39; (SII) and Self Financing Schemes (SFS).</p>

Many of the alumni, who availed these schemes, are now placed at eminent positions in Bangladeshi government, administration, academics, private sector and local arts and culture field.<br />

The alumni from different walks of life recalled how these courses had gone a long way in shaping their careers.<br />
<br />
A brief presentation was also given to highlight the new features being incorporated in the different flagship programmes of the Indian government, including the Suborno Jayanti Scholarship announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Bangladesh, earlier this year.<br />
<br />
The scholarship will provide increased opportunities to the best and brightest minds to pursue various courses in the institutes of excellence in India.<br />
