Imran Khan’s puppet PM of PoK Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi quits ahead of no-trust vote

After Imran Khan, his puppet prime minister of the so-called Azad Kashmir which is actually Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi resigned ahead of the no-confidence vote scheduled for April 15.

Niazi’s position had become untenable as 25 parliamentarians of his own Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had moved a no-confidence motion against him on Tuesday accusing him of corruption and misgovernance.

According to Pakistani media, it was like a repeat show of the former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ouster through a no-confidence vote which was brought by the combined opposition on April 9.

Following the step of his “selector” Imran Khan, Niazi too tried to thwart the no-confidence vote by expelling his five “rebel” ministers on Thursday but met the same fate as senior mentor.

Is it another American conspiracy??? Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi sacked 5 ministers from his own cabinet. These ministers were behind a no-confidence move against PM. “I first sent my resignation to the party chairman Imran Khan and then to the president after a lapse of one hour. It should be clear that I cannot sit with thieves and dacoits,” Dawn quoted the former PM of PoK as saying.

The rebel MPs of PTI also removed Niazi from the party despite Imran Khan’s instructions not to proceed with the no-confidence vote against his protege.

Imran Khan had directed Niazi not to resign and constituted a committee, headed by the party vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi, to save the government but the rebels were not in a mood to listen, reports The News.

According to Pakistan watchers, though Imran Khan has been trying to keep a brave face, there is a growing dissent among his senior party members especially after the military establishment has distanced itself from Khan and his “reckless” policies.

It is evident that despite Imran Khan’s order, only 123 of his MPs have resigned from the Pakistan National Assembly. The remaining 32 have refused to do so.

It may be recalled that last year, even after rigging the elections by the former Pakistani minister Imran Khan and the Pakistani army , Khan’s party could get 32 seats in the 53-member House and despite protests from his party members Imran Khan selected his own man Abdul Qayyum Niazi as the prime minister of the so called Azad Kashmir (AJK). It was followed by massive violent protests from local people accusing Khan and the Pakistani army of holding fake elections and carrying human rights violations and gross atrocities on the local people. Protestors also shouted pro-freedom slogans as they demanded the Pakistani army and other administrators to leave the occupied territory. Since then protests have been happening in PoK on a regular basis where protesters are demanding freedom from the clutches of Pakistan.
