The Pakistani media has reported that the plan to attack sensitive installations of the army and the government was planned at Zaman Park one day before the riots of May 9. The Punjab Police has revealed, according to a technical analysis, that the plan to attack the residence of the Lahore corps commander and other buildings was made by former prime minister Imran Khan and his close aides.
Geofencing, which is the analysis of internet protocol (IP) addresses along with global positioning systems and mobile networks, revealed that more than 400 phone calls were made by Khan and other senior leaders from Zaman Park to provoke party workers to move towards the Lahore corps commander’s home and other public properties.

The police shared information with Pakistani media that 154 calls were made from Zaman Park on May 8 and May 9 to party leaders and rioters to provoke them to attack.
The geofencing analysis revealed that Yasmin Rashid, Hammad Azhar and Mehmoodur Rasheed remained in contact with the rioters. Ijaz Chaudhry, Aslam Iqbal and Murad Raas also remained in contact with the protesters. As many as 215 people had contacted six Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on May 9.
The police have calculated the exact number of calls made by the leaders and to the people who were allegedly vandalising the army and government buildings.
