Dubai Eye becomes world’s tallest observation wheel upstaging iconic London Eye and many others

The city of Dubai, known for its ever-changing skyline, has added yet another icon to the list of its  jaw dropping entertainment hotspots. On Thursday Ain Dubai or Dubai eye, inspired by the famous London Eye,  was inaugurated in spectacular fashion as the world’s tallest observation wheel.

The 250-meter-high circular wheel is the latest attraction that has added lustre to Dubai’s reputation as the leading global entertainment and business hub. It followed the unveiling, earlier this week, of  the wax work museum ,Madame Tussauds.

The Dubai Ferris wheel outguns the London Eye (135 meters) , the 160 meters Star of Nanchang, the Singapore Flyer , which is 165 meters high, and the 167 meter High Roller in Las Vegas. 

Ain Dubai, has been meticulously planned, catering to all types of audiences. According to an Al Arabiya report, the wheel has customized special events cabins, a wide variety of dining options, nightlife and party enclosures as well as family-friendly cabins.

“We are the ultimate celebration destination, so it was only fitting that we celebrate the opening in style. More exciting details of what to expect from our grand opening will be revealed soon. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Ain Dubai.”  Ronald Drake, General Manager of Ain Dubai was quoted as saying.

Dubai eye, world’s tallest observation wheel, opens with lavish firework show

A single rotation of the wheel lasts approximately 38 minutes, and two rotations consume approximately 76 minutes.
