Drunk Swedish national arrested for molesting air hostess on IndiGo flight

A Swedish national was arrested at the Mumbai airport for allegedly molesting an air hostess onboard an IndiGo flight from Bangkok, police said on Saturday.

The accused has been identified as, Klas Erik Harald Jonasm, 63. He was arrested on Thursday and chargesheeted after a complaint was lodged by the cabin crew members of the IndiGo Airlines Bangkok-Mumbai flight.

The accused is reported to have been drunk when he first held the hand of the air hostess under the pretext of handing her an ATM card and later brazenly molested her, according to the complaint lodged with the police.

He was produced in the local court on Friday and granted bail the same day, officials said.

This is the 8th unruly airline passenger arrested in India in the past three months, according to officials.

On March 23, Mumbai’s Sahar Police booked two IndiGo flyers travelling from Dubai to Mumbai for allegedly being drunk and misbehaving with the crew. The arrested passengers were identified as Dattatreya Bapardekar and John George D’Souza.
