Netizens in both China and Taiwan are trying to figure out the names of cities and locations where the videos have been filmed. The part fun and part detective activity looks at road signs, accents of people and other clues to deduct where the videos have been shot. Some of the places identified by social media users include Nanjing City, Zhengzhou City and Xinhua County.
The current level of coronavirus containment measures resemble ones seen at the beginning of 2020 when the pandemic was still an unknown but fearsome entity in China. In late 2019 and in early 2020, China had implemented unprecedented measures by sealing entire buildings, stepping up surveillance and enforcing a complete ban on movement of people.
