Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday said that the developed world and the development partners&#39; must join hands to ensure quick recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.</p>

Speaking at the 77th session of the UN-ESCAP (Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific that was held virtually, Hasina placed a four-point proposal for co-ordinated recovery. The theme of the session is &quot;Building back better from crises through regional cooperation in Asia and the Pacific.&quot;</p>

As part of her first proposal, Hasina said, &quot;The developed world, development partners and international financial institutions (IFIs) should come forward in attaining quick recovery from the Covid pandemic.&quot;</p>

According to Dhaka Tribune, Hasina&rsquo;s second proposal focused on the development approach which should be inclusive, resilient and environment friendly. In her third and fourth proposals she said that the Asia-Pacific region should take efficient policies and strategies for a strengthened, universal public health system while establishing &ldquo;seamless connectivity in the areas of trade, transport, energy and ICT, science and technology.&quot;</p>

&quot;We urge the international community to remain focused on this issue for a viable solution through sustainable repatriation,&quot; Dhaka Tribune quoted her as saying.</p>

The Prime Minister also underlined the need to strengthen regional cooperation which would boost shared prosperity.</p>

&quot;We are engaged in Saarc (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation), Bimstec (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation), BBIN (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal), BCIM-EC (Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar Economic Corridor) and Trilateral Highway initiatives,&quot; she said.</p>
