Bangladesh will be one of the first countries that will receive Covid 19 vaccines from India as it is set to resume exports of the jab from October.</p>
<p>
Sources said that the pace of vaccine drive has picked up considerably and if this continues, India would be able to resume exports of the jabs to its immediate neighbours.</p>
<p>
India has already administered 80.5 crore Covid 19 vaccines.</p>
<p>
<a href="https://www.dhakatribune.com/articles/business">Dhaka Tribune</a> in a report said that India will give top priority to Bangladesh under its &quot;neighbouring (countries will be) first&rdquo; policy when the largest Covid-19 vaccine producing country is set to resume exports.</p>

Since April, India&rsquo;s vaccine production has more than doubled and is now set to quadruple to over 300 million doses next month.</p>
<p>
Only surplus stocks will be exported, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, as India aims to vaccinate the country&rsquo;s entire adult population of 94.4 crore by December.</p>

According to the newspaper, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Vikram Doraiswami, said that the Indian health authorities made the announcement &ldquo;in the context of the current inoculation totals achieved in India&#39;s current vaccination drive and the scaling-up of production in the country.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been underlining the need for all nations to work together to ensure availability of Covid 19 vaccines across the globe.</p>

The leader, earlier speaking at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) said that the vaccines are global public goods and that the United Nations and other international institutions must play an active role to meet the demand of every country.</p>

Earlier, Doraiswami also tweeted, &ldquo;Working together for a Shonar Bangla, based on Shustho Bangla (Working on a golden Bengal based on healthy Bengal) after the Indian Embassy handed life support ambulances gifted by New Delhi to specialist hospitals in Bangladesh.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
