Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari discusses Indo-Pacific issues with Japanese air force chief

<p>
According to a statement by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) the two air chiefs reaffirmed the importance of Japan-India defence cooperation and exchanges and agreed to promote it further.</p>

The air force of the two nations will enhance cooperation in 2022–the year in which India and Japan will hold celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations.</p>

The JASDF, called the Koku-Jieitai in Japanese, will reinforce relationship with the IAF to contribute to the peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, which is witnessing heightened military activity by China. The communist giant has launched territorial grabbing attacks on many of its neighbours and has also announced its plans to annex Taiwan.<br />

India and Japan have been collaborating on many fronts which include diplomatic, military, trade and collaboration on international platforms to water down the Chinese aggression. The two are also joined together through the Quad platform and the Malabar maritime exercises.</p>
