After Afghanistan, Houthi rebels call for US and Saudi exit from Yemen

After the humiliating exit of the United States in Afghanistan, emboldened Houthi rebels have also called for the departure of the US and Saudi Arabia from Yemen.

Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, chairman of Yemen's Supreme Revolutionary Committee, in a post on his Twitter account on Tuesday urged Washington and Riyadh to quit Yemen under a well-defined exit plan.

“With the departure of the last American colonizers from Afghanistan, I call on the United States and its Saudi ally to leave Yemen too and devise a plan to that effect so that the Yemeni people can live in stability and away from occupation and guardianship,” Houthi tweeted, Iran’s Press TV reported.
