A 108 feet tall Tricolour installed in J&K’s Baramulla

A massive 108 feet tall National Flag has been put up at Hyderbeigh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla, as part of the Narendra Modi government’s Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. This is the first of its kind in North Kashmir.

“This is the first of its kind installed in North Kashmir. I thank the citizens of this region to take forward the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign,” GoC Kilo Force Major General SS Slaria said.

As a part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ earlier today Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also led the Tiranga rally which has been organised by the Border Security Force troops in Srinagar.

With the idea of observing Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and delivering the message of peace in the valley, a live band performance was organised on Saturday by the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre under the aegis of Chinar Corps. Besides, the Central Reserve Police Force also held a walkathon rally in the Budgam area as a prelude to the Independence Day celebration.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, is aimed at encouraging people to hoist the tricolour to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. The Modi government urged citizens to hoist the National Flag from August 13 and 15 to celebrate the Independence Day.

“Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building,” an official statement said, adding that the idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
