Ducati has launched the top-spec SP variant of its famous Monster at Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The new Monster SP sits above the standard Monster, and costs Rs 3 lakh more than the regular motorcycle.

The Monster SP is powered by a 973cc, V-twin engine that produces 110 BHP @ 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm @ 6,500 rpm.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter.

The Monster SP comes equipped with an adjustable 43 mm Ohlins upside-down fork that is said to be 0.6 kg lighter than the one used on the standard Monster.

It gets twin 320 mm discs up front with Brembo Stylema brake calipers and a 245 mm disc at the rear.

It also gets a Termignoni twin-can exhaust, a steering damper and a lightweight lithium-ion battery.

The Monster SP is offered with several electronic aids, including cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control, along with three riding modes: Sport, Touring and Wet.
