Unsung Sikh Patriot & Journalist Sadhu Singh Hamdard | Played Vital Role In India’s Independence

Sikh patriot & freedom fighter Sadhu Singh Hamdard gave up all his assets to protect the Punjabi culture & literature. Born in 1918 in Jalandhar, Punjab, Sadhu Singh served in the publicity department of the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee to fight against the Britishers to protect Sikh rights. After India’s independence, he was conferred with Padma Shri but returned his award in 1984 as a mark of protest against the Indian Army counter-insurgency to arrest Bhinderewala which led to the heavy damage of Akal Takht.
