Unsung Sikh Patriot & India’s First Defence Minister Baldev Singh Chokkar

It was 6th September 1948. The Razakar force in Hyderabad attacked an Indian police post at Chillakalu village. A squadron of the Indian Army’s Poona Horse and a company of 2/5 Gurkha Rifles was sent to investigate the matter. But they too faced attack. Although the Indian Army soon chased the Razakars away, it rang an alarm in Delhi. At that time the defence ministry was helmed by Sikh Patriot Baldev Singh executed the plan and led the Razakar force to surrender. Watch the video to know more.
