Shakuntala Choudhury Interpreter Of Mahatma Gandhi & Social Worker
Shakuntala Choudhury is now the inspiration for many women who want to devote their lives to social causes and dream to bring change. Born in Guwahati, Assam in 1920, Shakuntala Choudhury took part in Vinoba Bhave’s Bhoodan Movement and led the padayatra for the movement. She disseminated Gandhian thoughts and brokered peace in the northeastern region during strife. She was conferred many awards for her indomitable works in various fields. She breathed her last on 22nd February 2022. Posthumous Shakuntala was later confirmed with Padma Shri in the year 2022 for her social service. Watch the video to know more
