As Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on his visit to Bangladesh and further enhance the bilateral relation, a look back in to the 50 years of the Indo-Bangladesh ties. Did you know, India was the first nation to recognise the sovereignty of Bangladesh, since the 1971 Liberation War. Among the many firsts, it was during the tenure of both these prime ministers, many outstanding issues such as the complex enclave resident issue was sorted. Modi&rsquo;s two-day Dhaka visit on March 26 to join the golden jubilee celebrations of Bangladesh&rsquo;s independence will not only be a diplomatic tour but also mark a significant cultural connect between the two countries.</p>
