The newly constructed Diamond Bourse in Surat is larger than United States’ defence headquarters Pentagon which is renowned as the world’s largest office. 15-story Surat Diamond Bourse houses have been built at a cost of around Rs 3,200 crore with 4,500 offices for national and international traders which can also serve as small diamond-cutting and polishing workshops. The bourse can accommodate 65,000 diamond professionals at a time bringing cutters, polishers, and traders under a single roof for the first time. The building is expected to be functional by November 2023 and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The building was masterminded by the Indian architecture firm Morphogenesis following an international design competition
