DRDO is known for building Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, the Arjun tank and missiles like the Agni series.&nbsp;However, not many know that DRDO works on cutting-edge technologies like in the field of &#39;directed-energy weapons&#39; (DEW).&nbsp;A directed-energy weapon is a weapon that damages or destroys its target using focussed energy by means of lasers, microwaves or particle beams.&nbsp;They are known to have several advantages as compared to regular ammunitions.&nbsp;As per US Defense News, the classified project dubbed DURGA II (Directionally Unrestricted Ray-Gun Array) will see the Indian Army receive the 100-kilowatt, lightweight directed-energy system.
