Rising crimes against women in Pakistan is not new. However, Imran Khan had promised to strengthen laws for women rights and empowerment, which has failed more so under his rule. Last year on August 15, an advocate was kidnapped and raped for four days by three unknown criminals. She was found gagged and tied when the perpetrators of this heinous crime dumped her on the roadside. Luckily, she was rescued by a passer-by. This is the video which started to circulate over social media, clearly showing her in a traumatised state. Another such heinous act was on a woman whose car died on a major highway, was raped in front of her kid by men who falsely came to her aid. When will the Imran Khan government keep their promise of a Naya Pakistan where women can be safe?</p>
