Countering China’s growing clout in the Indo-Pacific, India’s vaccine capital Hyderabad is set to Quad’s key strategy. Millions of doses of Johnson & Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine, will be manufactured out of Hyderabad’s Genome Valley. It houses global vaccine players like Biological E, Bharat Biotech, Indian Immunologicals and Shantha Biotechnics. With Quad ramping BioE vaccines to make about 1 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccine by 2022, China’s growing influence in the region is likely to have a blow.
