Founded in 1921 by Mao Zhedong, Zhou Enlai and others, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP/CPC), will be celebrating their 100th year on July 1. Their 'glorious' history is however shrouded in blood, as they quickly dislodged the democratically elected Kuomintang Party of Sun-Yat Sen, during the Chinese Civil War. Under Mao's 'Cultural Revolution', millions died of starvation and famine brought by the complete upheaval of the social order. Fast forward to modern times, from the Tiananmen Square massacre, destruction of Tibetan sites, Uyghur genocide are some of the many ills of this party. Watch to know more.
