WHO has declared B.1.1.529 strain of Covid-19 as a variant of concern, renames it Omicron. B.1.1.529 strain of COVID19 was first detected in South Africa. The variant has caused stock markets to plummet. Stock markets in India joined global markets in a sell-off on Friday as investors reacted with panic to the emergence of a heavily mutated variant.
