A 100-year-old Hindu temple was attacked by a group of unidentified people in Rawalpindi on Saturday. It was undergoing renovation since last month in the Purana Quila Area of Rawalpindi. About 15 people stormed the temple damaging its doors and staircases. Syed Raza Abbas Zaid, security officer of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, lodged an FIR at Banni police station against the violence. The temple had previously seen encroachment mafia issues. The situation was brought under control by the Rawalpindi police personnel. Attacks on minorities and their places of faith is a common sight in Pakistan.</p>
