World Wildlife Day is celebrated every year on 3rd March to focus on global attention on the protection of biodiversity and wildlife. The theme for this year is ‘Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet’. March 3rd is the date on which the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) was adopted in 1973. The aim of World Wildlife Day is to celebrate the numerous beautiful and varied forms of wild fauna and flora.
