ChatGPT launched for Android smartphones

OpenAI has now released a dedicated ChatGPT app for Android smartphones. This will enable Android handset users to download the app from Google Play Store and get answers to their queries straight on their smartphones.

OpenAI announced that the app is being launched in India, the US, Bangladesh and Brazil. “We plan to expand the rollout to additional countries over the next week,” the company said.

“This official app is free, syncs users history across devices and brings the newest model improvements from OpenAI. It will enable users to find instant answers, tailored advice, creative inspiration, professional input and learning opportunities,” the company said.

ChatGPT is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations with the chatbot. The language model can answer questions and assist you with tasks, such as composing emails, essays, and code.

It’s currently open to use by the public for free because ChatGPT is in its research and feedback-collection phase. A paid subscription version called ChatGPT Plus was launched at the beginning of February.

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, an AI and research company. The company launched ChatGPT on November 30, 2022. Software giant Microsoft had also financed OpenAI for the venture and is a partner of the company.

Apart from ChatGPT, people can also download Microsoft’s Bing app which has been available on Android and iPhone since February. Bard, the AI chatbot that is developed by Google, is yet to release an app on smartphones. But Bard can be used on phones via web browsers.
