Apple to raise profile in India – first official store to open in Mumbai soon

The wait for both India and the American multinational technology company Apple is over as soon the latter’s first official store will be opened in Mumbai. As a countdown to that, the store’s exterior presence was revealed recently.

This store of Apple company — which has been trying to increase its presence in India, one of fastest-growing smartphone markets in the world — is located in the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Sharing details about the store the company said: “Inspired by the iconic Kaali Peeli taxi art unique to Mumbai, the Apple BKC creative includes colourful interpretations of the decals combined with many Apple products and services that will be available for our customers to discover.”

Among the products that will be offered to customers in this store will include the latest iPhone 14 models, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches, AirPods, HomePods and Apple TVs. Besides this, the customers will also be able to access Apple’s storied trade-in program.

Apple Store launch comes after years of negotiations as the company had to comply with local sourcing norms that require foreign companies to source at least 30 per cent of their components from domestic suppliers.

Experts expect that the opening of the Apple Store will provide a boost to the brand image of the company and its customer loyalty in India.
