3.5 lakh tribal students in Eklavya schools to benefit big from AI based tech alliance

In what can be described as a significant development to achieve the goals of the National Education Alliance for Technology 3.0, the All-India Council for Technical Education has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bengaluru-based AI led EdTech platform EMBIBE.

The MoU will enable delivery of outcome-based learning for students and empower teachers through technology and help to achieve the objective of NEAT 3.0 of improving the employment prospects of youngsters in the changing job market. It will also enhance education through technology of more than 3.5 lakh tribal students and 40,000 teachers from 740 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the country.

EMRS is a programme implemented by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs and it focuses on providing education to Scheduled Tribes across India. With this partnership, EMBIBE will become the first edtech company ever to enter into a strategic partnership to impact learning outcomes in schools, with AICTE. Through this, students from Classes VI to XII, will gain access to EMBIBE’s state-of-the-art learning solutions and advanced personalised platform.

This initiative will skill students for employment and also change the teaching-learning equation by providing teachers and students with access to advanced educational resources and tailored support. During the academic year 2023-24 this collaboration is expected to impact 4 crore students.

Introduced in 2022, NEAT 3.0 is a Union Government initiated scheme to use technology for better learning outcomes. Implemented by AICTE it acts as a bridge between EdTech companies, academic institutions, and students from the economically backward section.

The MoU was signed between T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, and Devendra Gaur, Senior Vice President EMBIBE, in the presence of Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer AICTE.

Speaking at the event, Chandrasekhar said: “With a strong focus on enhancing education through technology and improving employability prospects for our youth, this partnership holds immense promise. By bringing EMBIBE’s cutting-edge AI-powered learning solutions to students in Eklavya Schools, we are fostering a transformative learning environment.”
