Trump is good for America and India; he should be back

Will US President Donald Trump get the second term? Nobody knows. Should he come back? He must, for he is a great leader. He is the only leader in the world who had the forethought to realize the danger China posed to the world. Long before the Wuhan virus had killed lakhs of people and devastated the world economy, Trump had reversed the trend of American de-industrialization. He took on China and its trade practices.

It paid rich dividends in the form of high growth and a surge in job creation. “Data released by the Census Bureau today show that 2019 was a historic year for raising Americans’ living standards,” the White House website said on September 15. “Real median household income reached a record high, and poverty reached a record low. Improvements in income and poverty were the largest in over 50 years. Minority groups—including black, Hispanic and Asian Americans—experienced the largest gains.”

Real median household income increased by $4,400 in 2019, reaching an all-time record high of $68,700, the site said. “This represents a 6.8 percent one-year increase, which is the largest one-year increase in median income on record. Since 2016, real median household income has increased by 9.7 percent (after adjusting for a Census survey redesign in 2017).”

Further, income gains in 2019 were largest for minority groups. “Real median income grew by 7.9 percent for black Americans, 7.1 percent for Hispanic Americans, and 10.6 percent for Asian Americans. These one-year increases were all record highs, and the new income levels reached in 2019 were all record highs, as well.”

Democrats and the liberal media tried to downplay such solid achievements by falsely saying that all this was because of the economic policies crafted by Barack Obama, but not everybody believed the fibbing liberals. This is evident from the fact that Trump is giving a tough fight to Joe Biden, the Democratic challenger.

Trump and his team not only created lots of jobs but also checked China’s infiltration into the American economy, its security establishment, and research institutes. The dragon had been stealing intellectual property in America (and elsewhere), getting its military-linked companies listed on US bourses, and practically enlistings the intellectual class to further its cause. Big Finance, Big Tech, and the mainstream media joined hands with pro-China forces whose personification Biden is. Hence the shrill tirade against Trump.

Trump has proved to be a great friend of India. Quite apart from ensuring the signing of the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) in the last days of his first term—we hope there will be a second one—he and his officials have stood firm with India against China. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been quite clear and loud on this issue.

Trump has done more than any other global leader for world peace. He facilitated the normalization of ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and Sudan. Further, “at least five more” Arab states want normal relations with Israel, he said.

An isolationist, Trump has reduced US military engagements all over the world, thus making the life of the American soldier safer.

He also has the gumption to fight the radical Left in America. He showed steadfastness during the violent Black Lives Matter agitation.

In short, Trump’s re-election will be a boon for America and the world, particularly India. He must get the second term..
