Watch: Progress and Harmony go hand in hand in Naya Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir which has suffered for decades due to cross-border terrorism has undergone a sea change over the last few years. This is evident from many videos going around on social media highlighting the transformation of the region known for its scenic beauty.

A stroll through the markets in the region provides a glimpse of how people have become part of the burgeoning economic growth. The footage shows showrooms of leading brands like Lenovo, Dell, Philps, Raymonds among others. The caption mentions that it is not London but Kashmir which is being shown in the footage

Apart from consumerism there is a jump in development of infrastructure in the Union Territory. This is evident from the spread of the rail network. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways has posted a video of the train zipping through the snow.

It is not just progress that is the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also its age-old syncretic culture. This comes through the video showing a temple and a masjid in Trehgam village in Kupwara district which share a common yard without any problem.
