Watch: Landslide in J&K’s Sonamarg hill station causes damage to property

A landslide in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sonamarg area — a popular hill station — in Ganderbal district has blocked the National Highway and caused damage to property.

Video:

Teams from the police, State Disaster Response Force and Central Reserve Police Force are reported to have carried out rescue operation in the region to assist people. While the area has been cleared, affected people have been moved to safer places.

A video on Twitter states that nine houses and shops and five cow sheds have been damaged.
