Continuing the ongoing land eviction drive in district Poonch, the revenue authorities retrieved 8 kanal 5 marla state land including 3 Kanal commercial land valued at approximately Rs 4.5 crores at the main Bus Stand Mendhar.
This prime land has been encroached upon by influential persons with the tacit support of political persons. However, people of Mender have been demanding vacation of this prime land from encroachments for the last many years.
During the anti-encroachment drive, eight permanent structures were also demolished by the authorities which were constructed on the same land. It is pertinent to mention that legal notices were already served to the encroachers to vacate the premises on their own before the demolition drive.
