In order to boost sports culture amongst the youth, Nowpora Sports Development Forum organized ‘Le Panga Khel’ kabaddi season 6 at Tujjar Sharif Sopore where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Syed Sehrish Asgar presided over as the chief guest.
As many as 50 teams from across Kashmir participated in the tournament and the grand finale was played between MidLine Vs Acme Sports Srinagar in which Midline won by 30 points.
Asgar, while addressing the gathering, said that sport acts as the best platform where talented youth can channel their potential. She said various initiatives are being taken to promote sports culture among our enthusiastic and aspiring youth, adding that the administration is committed to developing sports infrastructure.
Interacting with the players, the DC said that games are vital for the physical as well as mental fitness of individuals. Games also instill a positive and competitive spirit among the players, remarked the DC.
She also urged the youth to participate in sports activities with more zeal and vigour besides assuring every possible assistance from the administration.
Meanwhile, the DC distributed the awards among the winners and other best-performing players.
