The family of a seriously injured Kashmiri student who was airlifted from Dhaka to Delhi on Monday has expressed gratitude and appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he personally intervened to provide all the required assistance in bringing the boy back home.
Shoaib Lone, a resident of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir who studies medicine in the Bangladeshi capital, was critically injured in a car accident on June 3 which had claimed two more lives.
After the initial treatment in a Dhaka hospital showed not much improvement in his condition, Shoaib was flown to New Delhi in an air ambulance on Monday afternoon. He is currently receiving treatment at the Trauma Centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with a team of doctors specially assigned to look after him.
Narrating the ordeal, Shoaib's father Aslam Lone couldn't stop thanking PM Modi, saying that the family was not only facing the language barrier in Dhaka but was also running out of money due to the expensive treatment.
"I am very grateful to Modiji. It is said that giving thanks lessens the value of the deed done but I do not want to be ungrateful. I salute him by standing on one leg. If a country has a leader like this, like the leader we have in Hindustan, where there are such good leaders to take care of, people should not be afraid," Aslam Lone told news agency ANI.
He also thanked J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ravinder Raina who was the first one to come to the family's aid.
"In Rajouri, some of our friends met Ravinder Raina ji. He assured them that he will inform PM Modi and get my son shifted to India. I'm very thankful to him," the father said.
In a video message on Twitter, Raina thanked PM Modi for his prompt action in bringing back the critically injured Shoaib Lone from Bangladesh to India.

Several relatives and friends of the Lone family have also expressed their thanks to the Modi government, saying that the family had to spend close to Rs two lakh daily in Dhaka and had no means to bring the boy back to his country.
