It turned out to be a pleasant experiment and experience for a Kashmiri youth, Muneeb Ahmad Wani, who travelled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and back without spending any money!

Wani, who resides in Panzgam Pulwama, has a bachelor’s degree and writes blogs on different topics, managed to reach Kanyakumari in 50 days. He called this trip a social experiment which he started on December 16 last year while he returned to his place on February 21.

Explaining the experiment, Wani said wanting to know if the youth of Kashmir is deliberately targeted by others, he decided to find it out himself by doing this journey and that too without any money.

In this journey, Wani said he spent time in many places exploring and talking to people and observing their behaviour.

Talking to the media, he observed: “During the journey I found all different types of people. Everything was arranged by people for me, whether it is food, travel charges and accommodation. I even spent a few days and nights with Hindu families.”

Wani had informed people about his journey and posted his account number and other details with a video on social media following which he received calls from people, with some of them donating money too. “Wherever I went, I was helped by all without any discrimination. I saw brotherhood and humanity above everything. Most of the people I met during my journey were sympathetic and kind to me, though you always find few people with a negative mindset.”

He went on to add that people in Southern States were very warm and cordial to him.
